How Will Retirement Fit With Tax Reform?

We’ve confirmed another panel for the upcoming NAPA DC Fly-In Forum.

Delegates to the premier elite advisor event will hear from some important voices from Capitol Hill.

Just confirmed as panelists are:

Preston Rutledge, Tax & Benefits Counsel, Senate Finance Committee

Kara Getz, Democratic Chief Counsel for the House Ways and Means Committee

They’ll be bringing a broad range of experience, expertise, and retirement legislation acumen to what is shaping up to be an extraordinary NAPA DC Fly-In Forum agenda featuring an all-impact cast of movers and shakers in our nation’s capital, including none other than the point man on the fiduciary regulation’s implementation:

Timothy D. Hauser, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Program Operations of the Employee Benefits Security Administration

Fly-In Forum Delegates will also get a chance to hear from:

Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL), Ways & Means Committee, Chairman of the Ways & Means Subcommittee on Tax Policy, currently working with House Ways & Means Chairman Kevin Brady in leading House efforts to craft 2017 tax reform legislation.

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who also serves on the Senate Finance Committee. As a congressman he and then-Rep. Rob Portman led the charge in the House for the Economic Growth Tax Relief and Reconciliation Act on 2001 (EGTRRA), which set higher contribution limits, simplified discrimination tests, created the Savers’ Credit, and provided incentives for small-business retirement programs – remedying much of the damage done to retirement plan savings by the Tax Reform Act of 1986.

Our special legal panel – Thomas E. Clark, Jr. of the Wagner Law Group, Nancy G. Ross, a partner in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office and co-chair of the firm’s ERISA Litigation practice, and David N. Levine of Groom Law Group – will discuss what the fiduciary regulation could mean for litigation risks – and how to avoid trouble.

Shahira Knight, Special Assistant to the President for Tax and Retirement Policy.

NAPA DC Fly-in Forum delegates will hear updates on federal regulations and tax reform affecting the retirement plan industry from top congressional leaders and industry experts, including the ones listed above. On the second day of the forum, delegates have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with congressional representatives on Capitol Hill to share insights from the experiences they have on a daily basis with business owners and plan participants.

There is no registration fee to participate in the NAPA DC Fly-In Forum (you are, however, responsible for your own travel and hotel expenses, if any) – but there is an application process, because this is truly for elite advisors.
