In April, Morningstar analysts upgraded four U.S. mutual fund ratings and downgraded five fund ratings, one target-risk series and one target-date series, and assigned new ratings to four funds. The upgraded funds are:
- AB Global Bond A, upgraded to Silver from Bronze
- BlackRock Low Duration Bd Instl, upgraded to Bronze from Neutral
- BlackRock Strategic Income Opps Inv A, upgraded to Bronze from Neutral
- T. Rowe Price Diversified Sm Cap Growth, upgraded to Silver from Bronze
New ratings were assigned to:
- American Century One Choice 2055 A: Bronze
- Fidelity Mid Cap Value: Neutral
- Fidelity Value Discovery: Bronze
- Voya Solution 2060 Port I: Neutral

Morningstar’s Analyst Ratings represent the firm’s conviction in a fund's ability to outperform its peers and/or relevant benchmarks on a risk-adjusted basis over a market cycle of at least five years. As of April 30, 2015, 133 U.S. funds had a rating of Gold; 278 funds had a Silver rating; 328 funds were rated Bronze; 294 funds had a Neutral rating; and 38 funds were rated Negative.
