Puzder Nomination Hearing Set for Feb. 2

Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN) announced Jan. 17 that the confirmation hearing for Andy Puzder, President-elect Trump’s nominee to serve as Secretary of Labor, will be held on Feb. 2.

“Mr. Puzder is a respected Tennessee business leader who understands how excessive regulation can destroy jobs and make it harder for family incomes to rise," Alexander said in a press release. "I look forward to hearing from him about how we can work together create an environment to help create jobs for more Americans.”

The confirmation hearing originally had been set for Jan. 17. The delay could come at the expense of clarity on the implications on the timing and impact of the fiduciary regulation, which could come later than some may wish as a result.
