Don is the author of the "Inside the Stewardship Movement" column for NAPA Net the Magazine.

Don is the founder and CEO/Chief Ethos Officer of 3ethos, which provides echelon training to elite advisors and their fiduciary clients. Don is the former Director of the Institute for Leadership at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy; founder of the Foundation for Fiduciary Studies; and principal founder of fi360.

Don has authored or coauthored twelve books on fiduciary responsibility and investment management, including his latest, Freedom from Wealth (McGraw Hill), which he coauthored with Charles Lowenhaupt.

In 2003, he was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Labor to represent the investment consulting industry on the ERISA Advisory Council, and in 2007 he testified before the U.S. Senate Finance Committee on the fiduciary practices associated with the use of hedge funds and alternative investments in pension plans.
