Young Guns: Top 50 Plan Advisors Under 40

Where is the next generation of plan advisors coming from?

To answer that question, NAPA set out to find the top young advisors — the profession’s “Young Guns.” The result of that effort was our list of the “Top Plan Advisors Under 40,” which will be posted online July 15. A story will also appear in the Summer issue of NAPA Net the Magazine, due to reach your mailboxes in the last week of July.

Selection Process

One of the things that sets the “Young Guns” list apart from other published lists is that it is based on a three-part selection process that taps the knowledge of NAPA’s nearly 10,000 members:

  1. Firm Partner Nominations: The process starts with NAPA’s broker dealer and RIA Firm Partners submitting their nominations.
  2. Voting and Open Nominations: Next, NAPA members and NAPA Net Daily subscribers vote for their favorites onlineor submit additional nominees to be added to the voting portal. For 2015, voting began March 20 and ended at midnight ET, April 10. Advisors are not allowed to vote for themselves — and no one who works at their firm is allowed to vote for them, either.
  3. Selection: The final vote tallies are reviewed by a NAPA blue ribbon committee, which will select the top advisors under 40 — the Young Guns.
