Acheson Named Head of IFP Plan Advisors

Jeff Acheson, NAPA’s 2018-2019 president, has been hired as divisional president of IFP Plan Advisors, a division of Independent Financial Partners (IFP) that services advisors specializing in employer plan advising and consulting.

IFP is a comprehensive financial advisor support firm founded in 2000 by CEO William Hamm Jr. with home/corporate offices in Tampa, FL and Phoenix, AZ. It is dedicated to delivering personalized service to a growing network of more than 520 independent advisors nationwide. The firm's IFP Plan Advisors division includes more than 150 advisors throughout the country with over $30 billion in retirement plan assets under advisement as of Dec. 31, 2017.

Acheson noted that he is excited to take on the new role, especially as IFP builds out its own broker-dealer. “I am thrilled and honored to bring my 40 years of multidisciplinary experience, and relationships to bear on Bill Hamm’s vision of a ‘new IFP.’ It is exciting to think of the value proposition possibilities for advisors that a nimble, well-funded and integrated broker-dealer, RIA and brokerage general agent can offer,” Acheson said.

Acheson will continue to run his own private practice supported by IFP, Advanced Strategies Group, through which he provides executive benefit consulting, qualified plan advice and wealth management to companies, executives and private clients.
