Hatch to Headline NAPA D.C. Fly-in Forum

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), the Ranking Member on the Senate Finance Committee, will keynote the 2014 NAPA Fly-in Forum in Washington, D.C. Sen. Hatch will be speaking at the opening lunch at 12:30 on Sept. 30.

“We are incredibly excited to have someone of Senator Hatch’s stature address this elite group of advisors,” NAPA Chairman Steve Dimitriou said.

Should the Republicans take control of the Senate in this November’s midterm elections, Sen. Hatch would be in line to become the chairman of the prestigious Finance Committee, one of two committees with jurisdiction over any tax reform legislation that moves through Congress.

Sen. Hatch has also taken a strong interest in the employer-based retirement system. Last year, he introduced The Secure Annuities for Employees (SAFE) Retirement Act, which would create a “Starter” 401(k) plan, increase the auto-escalation 401(k) limit, and restore sole jurisdiction for IRA Prohibited Transaction Rules to the Treasury Department, among other things.

NAPA strongly supports Title II of the bill, which would implement a number of additional simplification reforms.

The Fly-in Forum will be held Sept. 30 – Oct. 1, and will take place at the W Hotel in downtown Washington.

Jim Dornan is the Political Director of ASPPA and NAPA.
