NAPA 401(k) Summit Topic Voting – Week #9

It’s the final week of reader voting for 2019 NAPA 401(k) Summit topics – and the top 10 has undergone some additional shifts.

The top two remained unchanged:

  • The Future of Retirement Income: Mental Bucketing and the Tools Needed to Improve Participant Outcomes

  • Is it in the best interest of individual participants to be auto-enrolled in a QDIA? If not, what is?

However, dropping from #3 to #10 was: “Advisors do not put their HNW clients into TDFs. Why do we assume TDFs are best for the regular retirement saver?”

Climbing one spot, to #4, was: "Refocusing Perspective: The Intersection of the Latest Financial Wellness Initiatives and Retirement Savings," as was (still) #5, "Ready! Fire! Aim? Reloaded: What big data tells us about participant behavior."

Climbing spots, to #6, was “Measuring Retirement Plan Success, how are advisors quantifying impact of their work beyond investments and fees?”

While “Plan health metrics, retirement readiness analytics, and benchmarking that help advisors shape plan design and improve their value prop” held steady at #7.

“Improve your outcomes by discussing income” improved to #8 from #10 a week ago.

And there was a new addition to the Top 10: #9, “Coupling education with plan design to drive improved participant outcomes.”

There were, of course, some brand new topics to choose from:

  • HSAs: The Retirement Savings Tool Most Clients Aren't Using (Yet)

  • Leveraging HSAs to Build your Revenue Stream

  • Expand your Proficiency of HSA Investment Considerations

  • HSA 2.0 - Building on lessons learned from the 401(k)

  • How to help plan sponsors meet their fiduciary obligations and reduce liability

Last Chance!

This is your last week to weigh in before the Steering Committee takes on the task of organizing the agenda, and begins the job of looking for speakers. So, even if you’ve voted – there are new topics – and new competition for the topics that we’ll have as part of the 2019 NAPA 401(k) Summit. We’ve lots more to choose (and vote) from because when we say that the NAPA 401(k) Summit is built by advisors, for advisors, we mean it. We’ve already got the location (Caesars, Las Vegas), the dates (April 7-9, 2019) and we’ve been working through a list of exciting keynote speakers. But this is your chance to weigh in on a critical aspect of the NAPA 401(k) Summit’s success – the agenda!

Remember that our unique online voting tool will bring up two different session topics. All you have to do is pick your favorite – or add your own idea for others to vote on. Then you’ll get two more choices – vote or add one of your own. If you don’t like either of the suggestions (though that’s not likely) – there’s even an option for that. Every time you suggest an idea, it’s added to the pool of ideas that others vote on.

So, give it a whirl – check out the exciting list of topics and vote (nearly 4,500 have already!) at http://ideas.asppa.org:3001/2019401ksummitagenda.
