October Three, Retirement Learning Center Join Forces

Service Providers

Billed as an effort to work together to ensure all people feel prepared to retire, October Three Consulting and Retirement Learning Center (RLC) jointly announced October Three’s acquisition of RLC.

As astute readers of NAPA Net will know, the RLC has partnered with NAPA for more than 10 years by sharing its highly valued, weekly Case of the Week on a broad array of technical topics related to IRAs, qualified retirement plans and other types of retirement savings plans.

According to the announcement, the two companies will together pursue the “vision of ensuring all people feel prepared for retirement” by combining RLC’s independent education and thought leadership to advisors providing better outcomes for their clients with October Three’s innovative approaches to design and administration of modern retirement plans.

In addition, the technology teams of October Three and RLC will begin to integrate O3 Edge into RLC’s offering to provide RLC clients with more resources, tools and 24/7 access to educational and prospecting materials. The two companies will also innovate in additional areas, the announcement further notes.

RLC was founded in 2003 by John Carl, a pioneer in the advisor education and support marketplace, where he built a team of industry experts providing invaluable support to advisors in the financial services industry. Unfortunately, John unexpectantly passed away in 2022.

“We have been a big admirer of John Carl and the entire RLC team for many years,” October Three CEO Jeff Stevenson stated. “In acquiring RLC it is our intention to honor the legacy of John by investing in the wonderful business he created and continuing to serve the advisor community with excellence and passion. It is our desire to enhance client services by incorporating additional technology-based solutions into the business…something we are very good at doing.”

“We are delighted to be part of October Three. Their passion for supporting the advisor community is consistent with our business purpose,” added Andy Larson, co-founder of RLC and Director of Education. “Combined with their commitment to technology and innovation we see incredible growth in our product offering and the support we can provide to our customers. We couldn’t be happier becoming part of the O3 team.”

October Three will maintain the Retirement Learning Center brand. October Three will continue to focus on delivering actuarial consulting, design and administration of retirement plans.
