Renee Scherzer’s tenure as president of the National Association of Plan Advisors officially began Sunday as the education and advocacy organization’s annual 401(k) Summit kicked off in San Diego, California.
“I am honored to be your next NAPA president,” Scherzer, president of 401k Resources, said from the main stage. "We are a group that has an unwavering commitment to never settling on the status quo. We are a group of innovators and creators who bring a tremendous amount of brainpower and authenticity."
Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, 401K Resources was founded by Scherzer and Kari Baker in 2020. 401K Resources specializes in retirement plan services, creating lifelong partnerships and personal relationships with their clients. 401K Resources’ team has over 30 years of experience in the retirement services industry.
Her firm joined OneDigital in mid-March of this year.
In her remarks, Scherzer acknowledged the contributions and accomplishments of Corby Dall, NAPA’s 2022-2023 president, presenting her predecessor with a special award thanking him for guiding the organization through its 10th year.
"Corby epitomizes what our industry is about and what we all strive for with the impact we make on people’s lives," she said. "He leads with grace, knowledge, integrity, and respect. Corby, your guidance and advice are invaluable to me, and it is with deep gratitude that I get to follow in your footsteps and serve as the next NAPA President."
Leadership Council Changes
Other changes in the NAPA Leadership Council for 2023-2024 include:
Last year’s Vice President, Keith Gredys, Chairman and CEO The Kidder Company based in Clive, Iowa, is this year’s President-Elect.
Lisa Garcia, QPFC, with SageView Advisory Group in West Palm Beach, Fla., replaces Gredys as vice president.
Dall replaced Alex Assaley as Immediate Past President.
At large members include Doug Bermudez, Lee Bethel, Lisa Buffington, CPFA®, Christopher Cervantes, Ed Chairvolotti, Christopher Dubie, Devyn Duex, CPFA®, and Alicia Malcolm.
