TGIF. No, Really.

Well, here we are again at the end of the workweek—and yes, you (still) can’t “shelter” stupid… just look at what has happened to these guys and gals…

First, some ‘Odds & Ends’

In Loreauville, Louisiana, sheriffs’ deputies responded to an unusual call… to a house in an unusual place… at an unusual time…

In Bogota, Columbia, Angel Alvarado, 19, just set a new world record… for the fastest time to solve not  one, not two, but three Rubik’s Cubes… while… what? And yes, we have video…

Speaking of world records, at Lucky Peak State Park Sandy Point, Idaho, David Rush… who has broken more than 200 Guinness World Records to promote STEM education… has set another record… at the YMCA Famous Idaho Potato Marathon… and, despite the location, it has nothing to do with potatoes…

A helicamper... Probably not what you think.

This headline needs a translation.

And now for the main ‘events’:

In Doral, Florida, an unnamed driver of a semi-truck was impatient to clear some safety barriers on a turn… and in the process, turned his 18-wheeler… into… well, something “less”…

In Oriskany, New York, the Empire State once upon a time had a big problem… a shortage of hand sanitizer… enter then-Governor Andrew Cuomo, who announced that New York would use prison labor to address that a hand sanitizer shortage and make bottles that were superior to “products now on the market”… which brings us to the new problem…

In Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, George Utley, 56, a former mail handler for the United States Postal Service… former because he suffered a job-related back injury… and proceeded to collect workers’ compensation disability benefits… but then he was caught doing… well, read for yourself…

And finally, in St. Neot, Cornwall, UK, Vikram Dawson, 36, interrupted a drive home with his family to answer nature’s call (a.k.a. “watering the plants”)… only to stumble across what looked to be an unclothed body lying face down in the bushes… well, sort of…

At the end of what has proven to be a terrible, tragic week—here’s wishing you all a safe Memorial Day weekend with those you love—alongside a special and renewed appreciation for those we honor on this Memorial Day. See you back here on Tuesday!
