What’s the Best Retirement Anthem?

As the Independence Day holiday (and summer vacation, generally) approaches, it’s time once again to pick the best song(s) about retirement.

Doubtless many readers will be heading out a bit early this week (doubtless some already have) to take advantage of the 4th of July holiday. So, as you crank up the tunes — in your car or personal listening device, out by the pool or as you fire up the grill, this week we wanted to give you a chance to think about — and rank — the best song(s) about retirement.

Last year the top five were:

Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay – Otis Redding
Don’t Stop Believing – Journey
Already Gone – Eagles
A Hard Day’s Night – The Beatles
The Best is Yet to Come – Frank Sinatra

The year before? Well, we had a completely different top five.

How it Works

You’ll be given two options from which to choose — pick one or add one of your own choosing to the poll. Can’t decide between the two? There’s an option for that as well. Then you’ll get two more to vote on, and so on. Vote as often as you’d like.

And while we’ve given you a list to start with, feel free to add your own (or post them in the comments below, and we’ll do that for you)!

We’ll publish the results on Friday (just in time for the weekend!).
