What’s the Best Baseball Movie?

Industry Trends and Research

Baseball season is in full swing (get it?) – in fact, this week, the 90th Major League Baseball All-Star game will be played. A reader has asked for some help in identifying the best movie about the national pastime – so, batter(s) up!

It will be the sixth time that the Cleveland Indians have hosted the All-Star Game, and with this, they’ll be the hosts with the most hostings (breaking a four-way tie with the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds, who have each hosted the game five times). Not that any of that matters to the question at hand; what’s the best baseball movie of all time?

But as for the reader request, they explained: “My son and I just started watching ‘baseball movies.’ So far it's been The Sandlot and A League of Their Own, and we'll be moving on to The Rookie and Field of Dreams. Not sure about Bull Durham yet (he’s 11). So I’m wondering, what do people think is the best baseball movie of all time?”

Now, we’ve pulled together a list of candidates – but feel free to add your own. Because even if you don’t care to be taken out to the ballgame, there are some great stories to enjoy!

Check them out at https://www.research.net/r/HZQS958

And we’ll have the scorecard all sorted out for you on Friday.
