Giving Back

Most of us chose the 401(k)/DC plan business either by accident or because we saw an opportunity to make money. But some of us also view the DC industry as a way of helping people while providing for ourselves and our families. In a profession that sometimes enjoys a less-than-stellar reputation, working with plan participants who may never speak to another advisor can be very rewarding — and a unique way for financial advisors to give back in the course of conducting their everyday work.

As part of NAPA’s effort to highlight people in the industry — both providers and advisors — we’re asking readers to submit nominations of people who have either made a significant impact through volunteerism or have gone above and beyond to help participants in their plans. These people will be profiled in a cover article in NAPA Net the Magazine. We’re also working with a third party that focuses on volunteering and gives out a nationally recognized reward.

Don’t be shy – submit your own name if you believe that you are making a difference in your community or with your clients. Please send all submissions to [email protected], or use the comment box below.
