TGIF. No, Really.

Think you’ve had a bad week? It could have been worse. Check out what happened to these guys (and gals)… First off, a happy Festivus – the holiday “for the rest of us,” according to the television series Seinfeld through which most of us became aware of the occasion. But that’s not actually where it got its start. In Poway, California, some burglars broke into the Western Mower and Engine Shop here… and, on the day after Thanksgiving, spent an hour behind the store moving heavy lawn equipment and making their path for a quick getaway… In about 90 seconds, the thieves grabbed 15 chainsaws and hedge trimmers valued at $5,000… but it’s not like they didn’t leave anything behind… In Midland Beach, New York, Eugene Reems, 49, back in 2007 was injured while working as a lineman for Verizon and began receiving workers' compensation benefits based on those injuries… Fortunately, Eugene seems to have moved on with his life… unfortunately, not in a way commensurate with the injuries he ostensibly incurred… In Largo, Florida, Darren Pickrem, 56, was caught on camera stealing a total of $623 from a pair of vending machines operated by Florida Fresh Vending… caught on camera wearing a most unusual disguise… In Ferndale, Michigan, an unnamed 28-year old woman was driving when her blood alcohol level was well above where a driver’s blood alcohol level should be… and, no doubt as a result, she wound up driving where a driver shouldn’t be driving… And finally, Jacqueline Ross, 49, dropped off a baby that had been in a nativity scene here at a local hospital… with a note that explained that the baby had been “neglected” by his parents… "Joseph and Mary Christ”… And guess where this happened… Have a great holiday weekend, folks! We’ll be off Monday and Tuesday – but back here on Wednesday with the news and information you need as we head into 2017!
