Who Are the Industry’s Top DC Wholesalers?

Today NAPA unveils its second annual list of top DC wholesalers, who act as “Wingmen” for the nation’s retirement plan advisors.

This year’s list drew an overwhelming response — 10 times the number of responses received in the inaugural voting in 2014. Consequently, the NAPA Wingmen Blue Ribbon Panel, made up of leading plan advisors, has decided to increase the number of Wingmen to 100 this year.

Finalists for this recognition were selected based on votes cast by several thousand industry professionals from a list of nearly 500 wholesalers nominated by their NAPA Firm Partner record keepers and DCIOs. With an estimated 1,400 record keeping and DCIO external wholesalers working directly with advisors, the 2015 Wingmen list represents the top 7% of the industry.

For the first time, this year’s list also identifies the Top 10 DCIO and Top 10 Record Keeper wholesalers — that is, the 10 Wingmen in each category who received the most votes from the industry.

The 2015 Wingmen list is available online here and in the Spring Issue of NAPA Net the Magazine, which mailed to NAPA members this week; more information about the annual list is available here. The list in the magazine accompanies a feature article on the future of DC wholesaling.

NAPA Executive Director Brian Graff and I will acknowledge the 2015 Wingmen during the opening reception of the NAPA 401(k) Summit in San Diego, Calif., on March 22, at 5:30 p.m. at the NAPA booth in the Exhibit Hall. Congratulations to the 2015 Wingmen!
