Christmas Love

For nearly 30 years, singer Darlene Love helped bring the holiday spirit to the Late Show with David Letterman by belting out "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," a modern holiday classic she first sang on Phil Spector’s iconic 1963 album, A Christmas Gift for You.

The bad news: with Letterman’s retirement in May 2015, that longtime holiday tradition ended. The good news: with a new album on the shelves, she's currently in the middle of a two-month tour, mostly in New York and New Jersey.

One more time for old times' sake, here's Love's final Late Night delivery of the tune, complete with Spector’s trademark “wall of sound” arrangement. (If it makes you think of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run,” that’s no coincidence — the Boss has cited Spector’s influence on his arrangement of the entire Born to Run album.)

So buckle up, crank it up, and enjoy.
