LPL Financial announced on Aug. 5 that it is introducing the Vendor Affinity Program, offering advisors analytics-based information that focuses on trends among pension funds, insurance companies and other large investors, and not just retail investment data.
The Vendor Affinity Program will be the first vendor platform to incorporate SmartVision by eVestment, a cloud-based program designed to analyze the investments of large institutional investors, who, according to LPL, control about half of the investable funds in the world. According to LPL, these investors’ moves lead retail investment trends by multiple months, and their SmartVision platform will make it easier for advisors to track this data in real time.
