NAPA's Updated DC Provider Lists

Every six months we update our list of DC providers (record keepers and DCIO firms) and broker dealers. Though there have not been any major shifts, there are more subtle changes that might indicate the direction of the providers specifically and the market in general. Here are some comments on changes we have seen since our last update in May 2013:

Allianz hired a DCIO sales manager — a new position, indicating plans for growth.
American Funds hired two DCIO specialists from Mercer and T. Rowe Price, marking their first official foray into the DCIO world.
BMO came out with new share classes for some funds, indicating a move as a DCIO.
Fidelity’s record keeper continues to expand efforts to sell through advisors in the small and mid-markets, while its DCIO has a full and separate complement of wholesalers.
Great West is expanding into the mid-market more aggressively.
John Hancock’s sales of mid-market product starting to take off.
Lincoln renewed efforts to sell in the small market.
MassMutual completed its integration of Hartford, with sales reaching pre-acquisition levels, and hired a senior manager to explore opportunities in large market.
Mutual of Omaha hired a senior sales manager to boost sales to advisors in small market.
Nationwide is now a DCIO as well as a record keeper firm.
NY Life promoted its head of sales to CEO.
Schwab is launching an ETF platform while focused on an all-index product.
T. Rowe Price hired a full suite of DCIO wholesalers.
Verisight was sold to a private equity firm.
