Arnott: More Aggressive Allocation Closer to Retirement Yields 20% Greater Return

Contrarian Robert Arnott, Chairman of Research Affiliates, told CNBC viewers on Wednesday that investors will yield a 20% greater return by being more aggressive closer to retirement — bucking the conventional wisdom of most TDFs and glide paths. Being more aggressive when the amount of investable assets are larger will benefit investors, according to Arnott. He also suggested that there is a “new normal” of lower returns which investors must adjust to, and suggests ways to achieve higher alpha. The video is here.
