NAPA Tabs Dimitriou as President for 2014-2015

Steven Dimitriou, AIF, AAMS, PRP, has been named President of the National Association of Plan Advisors. At the opening session of the 2014 NAPA 401(k) Summit March 23, Marcy L. Supovitz, NAPA’s founding president, passed the gavel to Dimitriou, who will serve as President for 2014-2015.

Dimitriou, a managing partner at Mayflower Advisors, LLC, in Boston, has more than 20 years of experience in the retirement plan industry, with a focus on participant directed plans. Prior to forming Mayflower Advisors, he was a managing director at H. C. Wainwright & Co., a vice president at BT Alex Brown, and one of the original members of the retirement sales team at MFS, Inc. in Boston.

He has been named PLANSPONSOR magazine’s Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year (2009), one of the 40 Most Influential Advisors in Defined Contribution by The 401kWire (2010) and a semifinalist for the 2010 ASPPA-Morningstar Leadership Award. In 2011, he was inducted into the inaugural class of the PLANADVISER Hall of Fame.

An original member of NAPA’s Leadership Council, Dimitriou was chosen as President-Elect in 2012. He also serves on several volunteer committees.

One of the driving forces behind NAPA, Supovitz was instrumental in the organization’s founding in 2011 and its growth to nearly 8,000 members and 150 corporate partners. She is a Principal at Boulay Donnelly & Supovitz Consulting Group, Inc. and has nearly 30 years of experience in the retirement industry, including 10 years as EVP at Pioneer Investments and 15 years in senior roles within the insurance industry.

Brian Graff, NAPA's Executive Director/CEO, lauded Supovitz as an example of a "true leader -- one who can effect real change and elevate the people around them." Said Dimitriou, Supovitz proved in her three years as NAPA President "that by gathering people together, they can achieve great things."
