150 Nationwide Associates Earn RPF Certification

Last week, more than 120 Nationwide associates earned their Retirement Plan Fundamentals (RPF) certification from ASPPA, which ranks Nationwide among the top carriers in the industry for certifications this year.

To earn the RPF certification, associates completed and passed examinations for ASPPA’s RPF-1 and -2 classes, both lead by Sarah Simoneaux, past president of ASPPA and current partner of Simoneaux and Stroud Consulting Services.

The RPF-1 and -2 classes provide an introduction to the issues, terminology and requirements of retirement plan administration, and they are designed to give candidates a big-picture view of the lifecycle of a retirement plan from its establishment and annual administration to closing down a plan.

This milestone is the first of a two-step process for these Nationwide associates. Next year, they will work on earning the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential, one of the most respected designations in the DC field. Applicants for the QKA credentials are from various professional disciplines. They typically assist employers and consultants with the record keeping and administration of 401(k) and related defined contribution plans.
