Advisors Are Thinking About…

What do NAPA Net readers want to talk about? Plan sponsors.

More specifically, “what drives plan sponsors to act,” according to our most recent reader poll, where we asked NAPA Net readers: If you had a chance to sit down with a group of advisors, what would you most like to talk about?

As it turns out, that was not only the most-voted topic, it was the “winner” by a significant margin. In fact, better understanding — and motivating — plan sponsor behaviors was a common theme among this week’s polling. Other ideas included:

  • Scaling your practice: infrastructure ideas

  • Big market, small market — are there different measures of success? Should there be?

  • Leading your clients to "fiduciary success"

  • Behavioral finance and the plan sponsor mentality — best practices in motivating positive change

  • Developing a true education practice

  • Incorporating behavioral finance into plan design

  • Nature vs. nurture: Which has a better impact on outcomes — plan design or education/communication?

  • Capturing rollovers — should you do it, and how?

  • What is the definition of better outcomes for participants?

Remember that this week’s poll is not just a rhetorical question — once again this year at the NAPA 401(k) Summit, we have a special session set aside for exactly this kind of peer-to-peer interaction.

Hope to see you in San Diego, March 22-24 — and be sure to join us for the peer-to-peer networking sessions!
