Deep Dive into the 401(k) Summit

For those seeking in-depth accounts of the most popular sessions at the 2013 NAPA/ASPPA 401(k) Summit earlier this month, your ship has come in. Three reports from the Summit have been posted on ASPPA’s website:

Broker Dealer Heads of State, a general session featuring top execs from the nation’s leading broker dealer firms discussing the pressing issues facing their firms and advisors today, including preserving advisor margins via a focus on plan participants.
From the Hill to the Summit, featuring Brian Graff, Executive Director/CEO of ASPPA and NAPA, and a high-level congressional staffer discussing the prospects for tax reform and its impact on the industry, DOL’s definition of fiduciary rule and more.
Are 401(k) Plans a Failed Experiment? This general session featured a three-person panel moderated by Brian Graff: Kevin Crain, Head of Institutional Retirement and Benefit Services at Merrill Lynch, Karen Friedman, Executive Vice President and Policy Director at the Pension Rights Center, and Judy Miller, Executive Director of ACOPA and Director of Retirement Policy at ASPPA.

The three reports are part of ASPPA’s “News from the Field” effort. More reports from the Summit are in the works; we’ll alert you when they’re posted.
