House Majority Leader to Speak at NAPA’s DC Fly-In Forum

We are very excited to announce that Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), the House Majority Leader, has accepted NAPA’s invitation to speak at the 2014 NAPA DC Fly-In Forum. Cantor will speak about the congressional agenda for next year as well as the prospects for federal tax reform and the Department of Labor's proposed regulation on the definition of a fiduciary due to be released just after the November election.

Representing Virginia's 7th District, Cantor has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2001 and was elected by his colleagues in the House to serve as the Majority Leader for the 112th and 113th Congresses. He has frequently been mentioned as the successor to House Speaker John Boehner if Boehner chooses to step down before the next Congress.

Other key influencers on Capitol Hill, including SEC Commissioner Michael S. Piwowar, will also be sharing their insight on issues critical to the industry at this year’s Fly-In Forum.

The NAPA DC Fly-In Forum is the premier event for elite advisors who want to influence the debate in Washington and learn about retirement policy. Attendees will hear from key decision makers on issues affecting our industry. The 2014 Forum will take place on Sept. 30-Oct. 1.

Though space is limited, about 20 Forum Delegate slots are still available for qualified advisors. For more information on the qualification criteria and to submit your application, click here.

Jim Dornan is the Political Director of ASPPA and NAPA.
