Managed Accounts, Holiday Movies & ... a Surprise Poll!

Industry Trends and Research

This week a reader wants to know—do you “eat your own cooking?” More specifically, if you recommend managed accounts, do you use them for your own retirement account? Oh—and one of our very special seasonal surveys, to boot.

A couple of months back we asked NAPA-Net readers for their perspective on managed accounts—but that was mostly focused on whether or not you used them in your practice(s). The results, as you may recall, were…mixed.

This week, we’re passing along a reader’s suggested inquiry—asking if you use/recommend managed accounts for others, if you rely upon them for your own retirement portfolio. And if not—well, why not?

As for our seasonal question(s)—we have two this week. One is, of course, our annual vote on your favorite holiday movie. You may recall that in 2020 in what was arguably a holiday-shortened voting cycle, A Christmas Story topped the list, regaining the slot it had held in 2017. In doing so, it pushed aside Christmas Vacation—which had been the “reining” champion the year before (and the year before that, though it still held onto the #2 slot, outpacing Miracle on 34th Street (traditional, with Natalie Wood), Elf and Home Alone…as for last year, well we had a two way tie for fifth (Love, Actually & Die Hard), fourth went to Christmas Vacation, third to Elf, second to A Christmas Story—and a brand new top holiday movie choice—It’s a Wonderful Life! What will this year’s choice be?

Oh—and we have one more polling question—come check it out!
