TGIF. No, Really.

Think you’ve had a bad week? It could have been worse. Check out what happened to these guys… We all know that you shouldn’t drink and drive… and that you shouldn’t drive and text… which makes the case of Dustin L. Rittgers, 28, of Grove City, Ohio, all the more unusual… because Dustin decided not only to drink and drive and text… he took it one interesting step further… Rittgers has faced operating a vehicle while impaired charges twice before, in 2007 and 2011. In New Castle, Indiana, Jordan Robert Bailey, 27, got his 15 minutes of “fame”… by being the first person charged with a felony in Henry County… he got it while doing something on Indiana 109 near the Interstate 70 interchange… about 3 a.m. one Sunday… so, what did he do to achieve such ignominy? In Surgut, Siberia, things get pretty cool this time of year… just ask the unnamed female driver who was trying to fill her car’s gas tank… but apparently while in the process of either checking out the fuel level of her car, she tried to shed some light on the subject… and did so, whilst managing at the same time to defrost her entire car… And yes, we have video! In Stamford, Connecticut, Donald Chen, a Stamford Police Department rookie, had requested two weeks off to report for training with his U.S. Army Reserves unit… that leave was granted… and then eight days into that leave, the Army called the Stamford Police… because they were looking to contact Donald… which led to an official missing person investigation… that eventually found Donald… but you’ll never guess where. In Beatrice, Nebraska, Joshua D. Weeks, 25, was on his way to a court hearing… on charges of shoplifting and no proof of insurance… but when he walked through the metal detector, it went off… Joshua then pulled a Sharpie marker out of his pocket… telling deputies that was all he had… though they knew that wouldn’t set off the alarm… at which point, Joshua reached inside his pants… and pulled out a black glasses case that was partially opened… and though Joshua offered to throw the case away, what the deputy saw sticking out of that case warranted a closer view… In Hackettstown, New Jersey, police came upon Santos Vasques-Hernandez, 34, on the ground, unconscious, unresponsive, and in what appeared to be in an intoxicated state… so, they asked him for some ID, and, after a spurt of combativeness, he handed them his wallet. Which turned out to be a mistake… In Missoula, Montana, George Tillman Cleveland, 57, was pulled over by police after making a left-hand turn without using the left turn lane on Highway 10 West here… was asked to provide his driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance… and provided something else instead… And finally, in Schoeppingen, Germany, an unnamed 29-year-old and two accomplices decided to vandalize a vending machine here… specifically a condom machine… now, I’m not sure exactly how much profit one might expect to make from such an act… but in this particular case, crime definitely did not pay… Have a great weekend, folks!
