UBS announced July 22 that it has entered in to an exclusive 20-year naming rights agreement for one of the New York metropolitan area’s most anticipated entertainment and sports venues.

UBS Arena at Belmont Park, as it will be known, will be the future home of the New York Islanders and is projected to open for the 2021-22 National Hockey League season. The arena will also host more than 150 major events annually.

In addition to naming rights, UBS’s agreement includes permanent exterior signage, access to the Arena’s largest premium private hospitality space and prominent placement of the UBS logo throughout the venue. UBS clients and employees will also have access to VIP hospitality opportunities.

“We are excited to announce this long-term partnership with the New York Islanders and are proud to play a role in creating one of the country’s premier sports and entertainment venues,” says Tom Naratil, Co-President UBS Global Wealth Management and President UBS Americas. “We have deep roots in the tri-state area and a fundamental commitment to growing our presence in the U.S. This is an opportunity to demonstrate and accelerate that commitment, while having a positive and lasting impact on the surrounding community.”

Along with providing a boost to the regional economy, UBS Arena will also commit a significant philanthropic investment, with a focus on improving college and career readiness for local youth by providing programming related to post-secondary education and entrepreneurship, both of which are cornerstones of UBS’s community impact efforts, the announcement notes.
