And with education being a critical component to the success of managed accounts, the firm also reports that participant enrollment improved 10% in 2023, largely driven by targeted, educational enrollment campaigns to help improve engagement.

As such, the firm created four new positions to further support participant education within its managed account services. The new team includes: Garvis Campbell, Ridha Durrani, Patrick Jereb and Travis Lowe.

Under the leadership of Denis Kelleher, manager of Wealth Solutions Corporate Markets, the team will focus on increasing managed account usage across both of Voya’s managed account service platforms, in addition to collaborating with the phone-based Investment Advisor managed account team.

“We are excited to see the development of this team, the collaboration with the Investment Advisory phone-based team and partnership across markets to expand our managed account footprint,” Kelleher said in a statement. “At Voya, we are continuously focused on investing in resources and education that can help play a role in advancing a better financial future for individuals and this unique offering advances this strategy and helps us stand out in the market.”

Campbell has more than 13 years of financial service industry experience. Most recently, he worked for ADP Retirement Services as a client service manager where he managed over 100 401(k) plans, providing strategic solutions to clients and advisors. Campbell also served as a registered investment advisor for RetireOne, supporting a multi-state region promoting and selling annuity and life insurance. Campbell is based in Hodgenville, Kentucky and will support the Central Mid-Atlantic region.

Durrani has been in the financial services industry since 2018, starting as a financial associate with Fidelity. In her latest role as a private wealth manager, she worked with select clients to provide comprehensive planning solutions to build wealth, manage risk and provide consistent growth. Durrani also worked with Citigroup as an assistant vice president, Wealth Management. She is based in Dallas, Texas and will cover the Central Southeast region.

Jereb comes to Voya with 11 years of experience in the financial services industry. As a manager and advice consultant at Charles Schwab, he has worked with participants in enrolling and retaining assets. Prior to Schwab, Jereb worked at Scottrade where he developed relationships with clients and prospects with a focus on helping them understand their individual investment goals and objectives. He is based in Phoenix, Arizona and will cover the West region.

Finally, Lowe has been working as an investment advisor on the phone-based Managed Account team since 2018, and prior to that, worked at Empower as a retirement counselor where he helped participants meet their retirement goals. Lowe is based in Boston, Massachusetts and will cover the Northeast region.

In addition to in-person and phone-based education support, the firm recently announced the launch of a new dual Qualified Default Investment Alternative, providing plan participants with more-personalized retirement investments and broader sophistication for asset allocation through a default option that evolves as participants age and as both their needs and circumstances evolve.
