Happy Fiduciary Awareness Day

Fiduciary Governance

Now there’s a whole new reason to focus on things fiduciary.

That’s right, March 21 – 3(21), get it? – has been declared Fiduciary Awareness DayTM, and if you haven’t heard about it yet, it’s something to keep an eye out for in coming years.

It’s the brainchild of Columbia Threadneedle’s Andy Cunningham, one of NAPA’s Top DC Wholesalers (our “wingmen”).

He explains the idea as creating an annual event that would bring together the best retirement plan advisors and teams who want to discuss the innovative trends, concerns and initiatives in the retirement plan space – filled with thought leaders in the industry with a track record of new insights, materials and service models that extend beyond theory to the actionable.

And for this first Fiduciary Awareness Day he’s put together an agenda that he says will take the conversation away from the basics of a “new plan feature” and elevate that into how they can best implement that into success for the plan sponsor to drive better plan results and participant outcomes.

Now, sure – every day should be fiduciary awareness day. It is for us, and arguably for you as well. But for some – perhaps the plans and plan sponsors you support – it isn’t top of mind. And so, a day dedicated to that focus is surely a welcome addition to the calendar!

So, Happy Fiduciary Awareness Day! And here’s to many more…
