READER POLL: Battle Grounds, a Sick Sense & More!

Conferences & Events

It’s hard to believe, but we’re now less than a month away from the 2021 NAPA 401(k) Summit—with an agenda developed by advisors for advisors—we asked NAPA-Net readers to weigh in on yet another day of compelling workshops—and a chance to win a FREE registration to the 2022 NAPA 401(k) Summit!

Last week we took you through the first half of the second day of the 2021 NAPA 401(k) Summit—and this week we picked up with the afternoon sessions—once again it was a tight race. Here’s how readers rated the workshops (based on which one(s) they will/would attend:

32% - “Battle” Grounds: Financial Planning and Wellness, and the Battle for “the Participant” (Between Advisors and Providers): Advisors and providers are “competing” more and more for providing additional services to plan participants. With institutional financial planning quickly becoming the new paradigm in employee benefit offerings, join us in a robust discussion on who is best suited to offer such services, and how advisors and providers can coexist in this space together.

25% - Habits “Forming”: Habits of the Industry’s Top Advisors!: Learn what the industry’s most successful advisors do on a consistent basis—daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually—and how to incorporate these “must-do activities” into your routine.

25% - Risking Business?: Why Effective Plan Governance and Fulfilling Fiduciary Obligations Matter: While we are all familiar with the 3 F’s (Funds, Fees and Fiduciary), in today’s continually-evolving regulatory and legal environment, it’s more important than ever to ensure you are keeping your clients’ retirement plans effective and compliant. This session will give you the opportunity to hear from three different advisory practices and how they ensure that their clients have a well-structured retirement plan governance program that drives participants outcomes while keeping the organization out of harm’s way.

18% - “Open” Doers: How Executive Comp Expertise Can Boost Your Business: More than 70% of organizations now provide NQDC-specific plan education to eligible employees, and nearly 40% of organizations provide investment advice regarding their NQDC plan, according to the Plan Sponsor Council of America’s 2021 Non-Qualified Plan Survey. This door to the C-Suite can open a wide range of consulting opportunities.

And then—just ahead of our big New Year's Eve party—we'll wrap things up on Day #2 with: ESG—A CEO Perspective. Environmental, Social, and Governance issues loom large on the investment and regulatory radar of ERISA fiduciaries and advisors alike these days, and despite growing interest, there are lingering concerns about focus definitions, benchmarking, and the implications of past and potential shifts in regulatory policies. This trailblazing panel of ESG-focused CEOs will explore where ESG has been, where things stand, and where this newly-invigorated initiative is heading—with the interactive discussion moderated by none other than American Retirement Association CEO & NAPA Executive Director Brian Graff and former NAPA President Jania Stout. Whether you’re a convert, a skeptic, or somewhere in-between, you can’t afford to miss this discussion.

Day 3

On the last day of the 2021 NAPA 401(k) Summit—we'll kick things off with Pssst… Plan Sponsor Confidential. Sure, you may know what your plan sponsor clients think… or do you? Back by popular demand at the 2021 NAPA 401(k) Summit, Plan Sponsor Confidential brings you off-the-record insights direct from the horse’s mouth(s)—in this case a panel of plan sponsors with different perspectives, different experiences, different types and sizes of plan—who’ll tell it to you like it is!

And then—a final set of workshops:

36% - “Sick” Sense: The Pandemic Brings the Topic of Financial Well-Being into Sharper Focus; Harnessing the Opportunities: The pandemic cast a light on financial wellness as an essential workplace benefit, and a growing majority of employers feel extreme responsibility for their employees’ financial well-being. The growth of financial wellness programs in the workplace also means that expectations have shifted. This session is aimed to help advisors identify and harness the opportunities associated with the expansion of financial wellness programs and trending solutions.

32% - Information “Pleas”: The Devil (Isn’t) In the Details: Advisors and recordkeepers alike spend hours answering RFP questions, but does it really matter? This panel of consultants and plan sponsors provides feedback on what they are really looking for when they issue an RFP. Teaser: Most of the time, it has nothing to do with the actual RFP.

32% - Lessons from a Fortune 50 Plan Sponsor: Develop a Strategic Partnership to Deliver What Matters Most: The pandemic has forever changed the workforce and employers are looking for consultants to become a strategic partner and reframe retirement benefits. What are the challenges today and what can you do as the advisor to better prepare for tomorrow? How are retirement benefits evolving and how are you changing the conversation?

And then, we'll close things out on a memorable NAPA 401(k) Summit with... Better Together—Identifying & Empowering Your Digital Doppelganger. There’s a chasm in your prospects’ minds between “I have no idea who you are” and “I’ve heard of you.” Equally important, once you cross that chasm, you need to both achieve and maintain top-of-mind awareness. In this session Spencer Smith, Founder of AmpliPhi, early-stage investor/advisor to 20+ companies, and co-author of the bestseller ROTOMA: the ROI of Social Media Top of Mind, will close out a dynamic NAPA 401(k) Summit with insights on how to identify, magnify and amplify your digital twin (doppelgänger) to work on your behalf and shorten your sales cycles.

And that—as they say—is that. We’re really looking forward to seeing many (most?) of you in Las Vegas, September 12-14! Don’t forget that if you haven’t registered yet, you can still do so at https://napasummit.org.

If you’re not able to travel—or your schedule simply precludes it—you can participate for many of these workshops (and all the general sessions) virtually by registering at https://napasummit.org/virtual-option/.
