TGIF…No, Really.

TGIF

Well, here we are again at the end of yet another workweek—and month, and halfway through 2023—and yet, just look at what happened to these guys and gals…

Image: Shutterstock.comFirst, some odds and ends…

Near Eureka, California, the drive-through Redwoods have—literally—become a tourist “trap”...

Tell me if you’ve heard this one…the 10 oldest jokes in human history…

The real reasons why sharks attack humans…

In Crandon, Wisconsin, some riders on the Fire Ball at the Forest County Festival got more than they bargained for…and yes, we have pictures…

And now for the main “events”:

In Worcester, Vermont, the fourth of July fireworks display was going swimmingly….until… this.

In British Columbia, Canada—and more specifically on Christina Lake, an unnamed 51-year-old man was charged with impaired operation of a vessel…after creating a scene while inebriated…he first “refused to comply with directions”…but the RCMP was finally able to “get their man”… though there is apparently some question as to whether his vehicle…is, in fact, a vehicle under the law…

In Ocala, Florida, an unnamed 7-year-old found out the hard way rule #2 when it comes to dealing with fireworks (#1 is keep fireworks away from 7-year-olds)…

In Ossining, New York, Police Officer Emily Hirshowitz, 36, reported multiple times over the past year that she’d been receiving anonymous, threatening messages…what she didn’t mention (apparently) was their source…

And finally, in Chicago, Illinois, police attempted to pull over Alonso Terrazo, 21, who apparently had racked up two minor traffic violations…but Alonso sped off …and ran a red light in the process…at which point the officers “terminated the stop in the interest of public safety”….but Alonso, not one to let well enough alone, continued speeding, driving north in the southbound lanes, passing vehicles, and dashing through a red light… and then another one…at which point he slammed into a car crossing the intersection…. At which point, with a (now) disabled vehicle, police were able to arrest him (with a couple of additional charges…specifically aggravated fleeing and eluding causing bodily injury, aggravated fleeing and eluding by disregarding multiple traffic control devices, aggravated fleeing and eluding police by concealing registration plates, and misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, attempted fleeing and eluding of police, and driving an uninsured vehicle causing bodily harm)… but guess what was on his license plates?

Have a GREAT weekend, folks!
