TGIF…No, Really.

TGIF

Well, here we are again at the end of yet another workweek …and yet, there’s no shortage of…well, just look at what happened to these guys and gals…

Image: Shutterstock.comFirst, some odds and ends…

While there are some general tips on dealing with a bear encounter (“alert the bear to your presence, get back, stay calm, and pay attention”), in the Poconos, Pennsylvania (supposedly), a guy named Mike (allegedly) ignored…well, all of those…with some surprising results…

In Copenhagen, Denmark, certain standards to be part of the (largely ceremonial) Danish Royal Life Guards have been lowered…literally…

“2023’s Best Cities for Surviving a Zombie Apocalypse.” Yes, that’s a real thing. Apparently based on factors including population density, access to “bunkers,” and hunting gear stores… though how New York City ranked so high is a mystery to me…

And you think Alexa and your fit-bit are “nosey”…

In Madison, Wisconsin… you know those stories about a long walk and a short pier? Well, sometimes it’s not how long, but how many… and yes, we have video…

In Missoula, Montana, the University of Montana is offering a “rebranded” online journalism course…having changed the name of the course to encourage more students to enroll… and that new name might just do it…

There are many ways to cross the ocean… this one, not so much… described as “manifestly unsafe” by the U.S. Coast Guard…

In Chicago, Illinois, Loyola Beach is now a nude beach… well, kind of…

And now for the main “events”:

In Ashtabula, Ohio, an unnamed man strolled into a local Ace Hardware Store here…looking for hedge clippers…and, having found some, he proceeded to use them to cut off an ankle monitor… unfortunately for him, he did it here…

In Clearwater, Florida, Noy Idel, 23, got agitated when employees at the local Walgreens refused to sell him a box of cigarettes, citing store policy…angered by the refusal, Noy allegedly “became irate and threw…what?

And finally, in Lancaster County, Nebraska, an unnamed man called 911 to report …a driver who he thought was driving on the wrong side of the highway…and sure enough…

Have a GREAT weekend, folks!
