TGIF…No, Really.

TGIF

Well, here we are again at the end of yet another workweek …and yet, there’s no shortage of…well, just look at what happened to these guys and gals…

Image: Shutterstock.comFirst, some odds and ends…

In Australia, Charlie Eggins, 14, managed to set a new world record at the Australian Nationals 2023…shaving 0.68 seconds off the time logged by former record-holder Tommy Cherry in January 2023…doing what, you might ask?  Well, let’s just say he was blindfolded…

Who says TikTok doesn’t have educational merit?

In New Orleans, Louisiana, Jovante Carter, 22, recently broke an unusual Guinness World Record for gurning—and holding the position for 1 minute and 2 seconds…so, what’s gurning? Thought you’d never ask… and yes, we have video…

The US Army Corps of Engineers has been engaged in a “dredge project” aimed at clearing the river of muck for rowers…they weren’t expecting this

Who knew?

In Half Moon Bay, California, Travis Gienger of Anoka, Minnesota, has won the 50th World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off…with a pumpkin HOW BIG? And yes, we have pictures…

And now for the main “events”:

Near Lake Champlain, Vermont, Michael A. Gonzalez, 32, was recently sentenced in a case involving a swindle involving Tesla…apparently Michael exploited Tesla’s purchasing system…to buy vehicles and take possession…while not allowing the final payment to go through…he would then sell the vehicles to used dealerships or individuals online….so, what did he do then? BTW, he did it five times…

In Greenwood, Arkansas, Ricky Dority found an interesting way to spend his pandemic relief funds…

In Ocala, Florida, Wendell Doyle Goney, 52, who has already been convicted of felonies…29 times….has just made it…30…

In Bristol, Connecticut, Suzanne Laprise, 51, apparently had an issue with law enforcement here…entering the lobby, going up to the windows, banging on them with a gun… and then…

And finally, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lincoln County District Judge Traci Soderstrom has gotten into some hot water for sending more than 500 texts to her bailiff during a murder trial…including messages mocking the prosecutor, praising the defense attorney and calling a key witness a liar…. And it’s not the first time she’s been in trouble for such things

Have a GREAT weekend, folks!
