TGIF. No, Really.

TGIF

Another week… and as our nation begins to move to the next phase of this pandemic, we continue to wish you and yours good health—and offer the following in hopes that it will provide a brief respite in your day at this (still) critical time…

In Altona, New York, Roman Kintner, 20, was stopped by police after leading them on a 25-mile chase through multiple communities… after being clocked doing 98 mph in a 65 mph zone… Finally stopped by spike strips, Roman at first refused to leave the car… but then, he’s had a busy week…

Out in the Gulf of Mexico (we’re talking, like 12 miles out from shore), Jeovanni Villacis and Yunior Pupo had spent the day fishing… but at some point noticed that water was puddling in the rear of their 16-foot boat… and so Jeovanni went to get a bucket to scoop some of the water out… but not, apparently, in time… the boat was going down… so Jeovanni and Yunior went looking for flotation devices… and found one… and while it turned out to be a life saver, it sure wasn’t a life preserver…

In Yellowstone National Park, the park is open, and tourists are back… including an unnamed female visitor who apparently hasn’t yet learned how to social distance…

In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an as-yet-unnamed individual was recently spotted by police on social media doing something in… or rather on… a moving vehicle… that seems fair to call (as the Milwaukee Police Department did) “reckless behavior”… So, what was he doing? Well, fortunately, we have video…

In Denton, Manchester, UK, Daniel Varey, 28, wanted to get his girlfriend a personalized gin glass for her birthday… more specifically, personalized with the message “Happy 30th birthday princess, love you millions”… but he should have been more attentive to the instructions…

At a convenience store in Thailand, an unnamed store clerk was taking safety precautions with a customer… and went to administer one of those forehead thermometer tests… but there was just one little problem… and yes, we have video…

In Caroline County, Virginia, the Schantz family was out for a Saturday afternoon drive… when the car in front of them swerved around an object in the road… and the Schantz’s car, unable to make the adjustment in time, hit the object… so they stopped, and picked up what turned out to be a bag… and then a second bag, which was about 15 feet away… They didn’t look in the bags till they got home (no, I have no idea why)… at which point they got quite a surprise…

So, how far would you drive for a haircut?  One hundred miles? Not even close.

In Poughkeepsie, New York, an unnamed 35-year-old (“highly intoxicated”) man was spotted on the street… and ultimately found by police… claiming he had been walking… when suddenly he realized he was shot in the… posterior… fell, and struck his head… So police took him to the hospital… where he was treated for his injuries… well, most of them…

And finally, in Galveston, Texas, Vicki Novikoff Barnhart, had a problem with her microwave… It was beeping loudly nonstop, 24 hours a day… and because it was built in, it wasn't possible to just unplug it… a friend suggested shutting off the circuit breaker… but it was mounted outside up high and would require taking the back off, which she figured was too dangerous… another said to hit the microwave with a hammer… but Vicki thought that just seemed like a great way to get electrocuted… Finally (after six weeks), she was able to get a repairman to come to the house to install a new microwave… He put the old one out on the curb, promising that someone would happily take it away… and sure enough, they did… then guess what?

Have a GREAT Memorial Day weekend, folks!  It’s been a rough couple of weeks—rougher still for those who have lost loved ones, and for those stricken with this deadly virus. However, let’s not forget the reason behind the holiday—and pause to remember the sacrifice that many have made for us to be here today.

We’ll be off Monday for the holiday as well—but see you back here on Tuesday!
