TGIF. No, Really.

TGIF

Well, here we are again—and even during these extraordinary times, you (apparently still) can’t “shelter” stupid… just look at what has happened to these guys and gals…

Some Odds & Ends

While fishermen are always talking about “the one that got away”… well, on Roanoke River, North Carolina, Rocky Baker (and his fishing buddy Justin Clifton) have landed what might well be a record large catfish in the state… Well, looking at the pictures, that looks likely…

In Des Moines, Iowa, some drivers decided that it would be prudent—with a hailstorm approaching—to pull off under a highway overpass… unfortunately, it seems that (too) many had that brilliant idea at the same time… rendering it a not-so-brilliant result… and yes, we have pictures…

In South Windsor, Connecticut, a Mercedes driver learned the hard way that… well, see for yourself…

And now for the main “events”:

In Lafayette, Louisiana, Jimmy Jennings found himself stranded on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge here… due to a 10-car pileup ahead… and while his response was unusual, it wasn’t particularly effective…

In Springfield, Massachusetts, Manuel Torres, 23, was looking to do some target practice with his paintball gun… and he found an unusual target… though not a particularly wise one, as it turns out…

In Logan Township, Pennsylvania, Matthew Robinson, 36, walked out of the local Dick’s Sporting Goods with some $2,000 worth of merchandise… without stopping to pay for it… but then, despite apparently having gotten away with his misdeed… well, he did this…

In London, UK, Nina Farooqi, 37, wanted to attend her team’s performance in the Euro semi-final… particularly since her friend had won last-minute tickets through a ballot… but knowing that her firm was short-staffed at the moment, she figured they wouldn’t grant her the day off… so, guess what she did… and guess what she did while there… and guess how that turned out… or you can just read about it here…

And finally, in Portage County, Ohio, Stephan R. Elash was pulled over for speeding… unfortunately for Stephan he was in possession of a substance that is illegal in Ohio… fortunately for Stephan he had an opportunity to ingest said illegal substance… unfortunately for Stephan said illegal substance (encased in a plastic bag) didn’t swallow so well… fortunately for Stephan he got pulled over for speeding… also unfortunately…

Have a GREAT weekend, folks!
