TGIF. No, Really.

Well, here we are again at the end of another work week—and just look at what has happened to these guys and gals…

First, some “Odds & Ends”

In Burlington, Vermont, Amelia, who happens to be a chicken… did far more than cross the road…

Mosquitos…Texas style…

A brief history of “nobody wants to work anymore”… and it goes back further than you might think…

In London, UK, it’s so hot that… what?

In Denver, Colorado, a whole new kind of air travel problem…

And now for the main “events”:

In Flint, Michigan, QaShontae Short, filed a suit seeking $10,000 in damages against Richard Jordan for “intentional infliction of emotional distress”… It wasn’t so much what he did that was unusual, though his timing was, arguably, bad… and then QaShontae and the judge hearing the case got into it…

In Sydney, Australia, Jessica Lee, arriving on a flight from Singapore, apparently forgot to declare an item in her carry-on… and that cost her a fine of some $1,820… So, what did she forget to declare?

In Dorset, UK, An unnamed man was refused entrance to his hotel… so he decided to stage a protest of sorts… lying down in front of the hotel… Now, he thought the refused entry was due to his being inebriated… but turns out the real reason was a bit more “mundane” than that…

In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Angela Chalmers woke up to the sound of her dog Loki growling and barking at the top of her stairs shortly before 7 a.m… “I came down to see what it was that he was barking at, and I walked halfway down the stairs and there was a strange man lying right here on my couch”… so she called 911, and went to hide in a closet… only to be told that police couldn’t come right away… but you won’t believe the advice the dispatcher gave her as an interim “solution”…

In Providence, Rhode Island, an as-yet-unnamed man made off with $22,000 in small bills from a local small business… Guess what kind of small business…

In Houston, Texas, an as-yet-unidentified individual entered a local convenience store about 4 a.m. on July 4… bought a face mask… and then guess what he did…

And finally, in Tofino, British Columbia, Canada, Stephanie Hannay was startled to hear her car horn and lights flashing one recent evening around 10:30 pm… but when she looked out her window, everything seemed copasetic… But then, about 2 a.m. they started again, so she went outside to investigate… and found not one surprise… but two…

Have a GREAT weekend, folks!
