TGIF. No, Really.

TGIF

Well, here we are again at the end of yet another workweek—and just look at what has happened to these guys and gals…

First, some “Odds & Ends”

In Nanning, China, a man identified by the pseudonym Li, bought 40 lottery tickets for 80 yuan (about US $11) in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region…and every ticket contained the same seven numbers…which all “hit”…providing Li with a jackpot of some $30.6 million… but not only did he collect his winnings in costume…he’s not even planning to tell his family… and he claims it’s for their own good…

Near Cosmo Newbury, Australia (that’s about 1,000 kilometers east of Perth, apparently), a semi-trailer truck was carrying a load of ammonium nitrate emulsion…when one of its wheels caught fire…which would be problematic enough on its own…until you remember what ammonium nitrate is, and what it’s used for…and then you won’t be surprised at the outcome…and yes, we have pictures…

And now for the main “events”:

In St. Louis, Missouri, Demond Benard McDaniels Jr., 26, and Dawuane Lamont Rhodes Jr., 25, are facing up to 20 years in prison…following a traffic stop in which a Geary County sheriff’s deputy found two duffel bags with around 100 pounds of meth inside…to make a long story a little shorter, upon being arrested, Demond reportedly replied, "I have a good lawyer." But when DEA agents asked him if he had a job and how he could afford a good attorney, Demond answered… well, let’s just say it seemed a bit of a slip….

In Tampa, Florida, Ralph Puglisi, a former Accounting Manager for the University of South Florida Medical Services Association (for about a decade) dating back to 2014 began using corporate credit cards “to make unauthorized charges”… to fund things like “home furnishings, trips and gifts” because he believed he had to provide a “luxurious lifestyle” for his now ex-wife and her family…oh, and there was his “virtual” girlfriend…so, how much did he spend on all this?  Well, let’s just say it accounted for 80% of all the profits for MyGirlFund for the period…

In St. Peters, Missouri, Chris Bank has run afoul of a town ordinance…and while that might not seem unusual, his does seem to be an uncommon violation… something called a “turf ratio”…

In Brownsville, Texas, Heaven Valenzuela, 17, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon family violence, abandon/endanger child and possession of marijuana…all this because she threatened to shoot a man with a BB gun…because she didn’t want to…what?

And finally, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dillon Slack reportedly broke into a local AT&T store…set off the alarm (despite having cut power to the building) stole some merchandise—and did over $1,000 worth of damage in the store… officers then found an iPhone that appeared to be used…and AT&T personnel said it didn't belong to them…now, you can guess who it DID belong to… but that’s not the dumbest thing Dillon did…

Have a GREAT weekend, folks! And don’t forget that many/most of you will get to turn those clocks back an hour this weekend!
