TGIF. No, Really.

TGIF

Well, here we are again at the end of yet another workweek—and just look at what has happened to these guys and gals…

First, some “Odds & Ends”

Ahead of the holidays, the cost for TSA PreCheck is dropping

In South Africa, Linda Potgieter, 50, set a new Guinness World Record for most…what…in an hour? Interestingly enough, in so doing, she wrested the title from fellow South African Veronica Dean…

On Marazion Beach, Penzance, UK, well you just never know what will wash up… if you have the stomach for it…

Gregory Foster just set another Guinness World Record… and it only took him 33.15 seconds to do so

In El Paso, Texas, some 55 students might have to retake their SAT test… for a very unusual reason…

Remember the viral controversy over the color of The Dress? Well, here’s some science.

And now for the main “events”:

In St. Petersburg, Florida, Matthew Meredith, 39, in 2019 got a tax refund from the IRS… $6,374,576.92 for his first submitted claim…and then, the very next day, Matthew filed a second tax refund claim…this time seeking just under $4 million…all in all, he submitted five claims for a tax refund between August 2019 and February 2020…totaling more than $170 million…perhaps needless to say, these were fraudulent claims…so Matthew simply took the money and hid, right? Guess again…

In La Verne, California, an unnamed man was caught stealing a shopping cart from a Vons supermarket here…that turned out to be “jam-packed” with… laundry detergent (more specifically, over 20 large bottles of Tide laundry detergent) … as it turned out, he not only didn’t make a “clean” getaway… well, let’s just say that wasn’t the end of his troubles…

In Bow, New Hampshire…who says you have to look grumpy in a mug shot…

In Columbia, South Carolina, David Lee Angell, 51, recently tried to board an airplane with some “extras” in his carry-on baggage…

At the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport it appears that the holiday travel season has already arrived…

In Belle Plaine, Kansas, an unnamed driver drew the attention of police following reports of an “erratic driver”… who subsequently drove “at a high rate of speed” past an officer looking to investigate…so high, apparently, that he failed to stop at a T intersection…hit the curb…and went airborne…you won’t believe where he landed…oh, and yes, we have pictures…

And finally, in Buchtel, Ohio, Hannah Warren, 25, was in the neighborhood where law enforcement was serving an active warrant on one Kevin McDonald who, at the time was driving a Nissan SUV…Hannah was apparently too close to that event…was warned by law enforcement to stay away from the scene…twice…but then—as Kevin was being led to a patrol car…climbed into the driver’s seat…and “sped off”…leading police on a 30 minute chase before Hannah crashed the SUV into one of their squad cars….then tried to flee on foot…and then things got worse…

Have a GREAT weekend, folks!
