TGIF. No, Really.

TGIF

Well, here we are again at the end of yet another workweek—and year…but these guys and gals are heading out of 2022 with a real “bang”…

In Lakeland, Florida, Nick Day proposed to his wife Shaina…with a diamond engagement ring… that wound up being accidentally flushed…but eventually recovered…after HOW long?

Lake Michigan covered in…ice pancakes?

Why December 26 is called Boxing Day—and where the name came from…

Phone phobia? This woman charges $480 an hour to help Gen Z and Millennial workers overcome their fear of talking on the phone…

And now for the main “events”:

In the (apparently aptly) named Darwin, UK, a couple chose an interesting (and arguably hazardous) means of transporting their 65-inch TV home…and yes, we have pictures…

In Stafford County, Virginia, an unnamed 17-year-old driver was spotted speeding in a Ford Mustang…in a 40 mph speed zone… and as it turned out, First Sergeant B.W. Collins turned his lights on and followed…but realized he couldn’t catch him, and called ahead for help (and got it)… so, exactly how fast was he driving?

In Clearwater, Florida, Frankie Caldwell, 55, got into a holiday “altercation” with his 53-year-old “on-again-off-again girlfriend of nine years” about 7 am one recent morning…that happened to involve a “fragile” Christmas ornament…’tis the season…

In East Goshen, Pennsylvania, Anne Farrelly, 33, and Adam Thompson, 35, have been charged with “theft by unlawful taking and other crimes”… what’s weird is what they were taking…and how they were caught…

In Westminster, California, Tim Hughes, 60, led police on a high-speed chase…including travelling through what investigators said looked like a “snowstorm”…

In Cairo, Illinois, life imitates art. Well, A Christmas Story art, anyway…

And finally, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Biankia Larayne Gleason, 33, claimed that she was misdirected by her GPS…though alcohol also seems to have been involved…and yes, we have pictures…

Have a GREAT New Year’s Eve/New Year’s folks! We’ll be off on Monday (taking advantage of a day to recover from the festivities)—but see you back here on Tuesday in 2023!
